- Advancing Dialectal Arabic to Modern Standard Arabic Machine Translation (2025 · 8 citations)
Most everyday Arabic is spoken and written in dialects, while most NLP tools are built for Modern Standard Arabic (MSA). This makes dialect-to-MSA (DA–MSA) translation an important bridge. The authors study it for Levantine, Egyptian and Gulf Arabic under low-resource, compute-limited conditions, and take two routes. - Ara-HOPE: Human-Centric Post-Editing Evaluation for Dialectal Arabic to Modern Standard Arabic Translation (2026 · 2 citations)
Translating Dialectal Arabic (DA) into Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) is closer to normalizing a variety than to translating between languages.
