- CoMAT: Chain of Mathematically Annotated Thought Improves Mathematical Reasoning (2025 · 14 citations)
Large language models still struggle with hard mathematical problems. Standard Chain-of-Thought (CoT) prompting can produce explanations that do not actually support the final answer. Earlier fixes delegate computation to external solvers, but these break when the model writes invalid code. The authors propose CoMAT… - Theorem Prover as a Judge for Synthetic Data Generation (2025 · 9 citations)
Synthetic math data for LLMs often contains solutions whose final answer is right but whose intermediate steps are wrong. LLM-as-a-Judge filtering can be biased, and translating solutions into a formal prover often produces code that fails to run. The authors address this with three parts.
