- CobwebTM: Probabilistic Concept Formation for Lifelong and Hierarchical Topic Modeling (2026)
Topic models usually involve a trade-off. LDA-style probabilistic models need a fixed topic count and bag-of-words input. Neural models are heavily parameterized, trained in batch, and tend to forget earlier topics as new data streams in. Hierarchies are also often added only after flat clustering. CobwebTM addresses… - Grounded Concreteness: Human-Like Concreteness Sensitivity in Vision–Language Models (2026)
The paper asks whether multimodal training gives language models a more human-like sense of how concrete or abstract words are, even when the models only receive text.
