 Papers

The most cited first (OpenAlex and our library).

  1. DPR@DravidianLangTech 2026: Transformer-Based Abusive Content Detection for Tamil Text Targeting Women on Social Media (2026 · 1 citation)
The paper addresses the automatic detection of abusive, women-targeted content in Tamil social media comments. This task is hard because of Tamil's rich morphology, dialectal variety, transliteration, code-mixing with English, and sarcasm. These features make simple keyword lists unreliable.
  2. IIITK_SpeechScape@DravidianLangTech 2026: Dialect based speech recognition and classification using Speech Foundation Models and Deep Learning Techniques (2026)
This shared-task paper from IIIT Kottayam addresses two problems in Tamil speech processing: identifying which regional dialect an utterance belongs to, and transcribing dialectal speech into text.
